Going For The Mood

Sylvy told me yesterday about my lack of blogging nowadays.That was during the time of our ex-TIPSian BBQ session.And yes,we did had a wonderful time catching up with one another updating the current self situations.

It's time for me to get back to my blogging business.

As you have noticed,I have not been blogging for the month of October,reason is because the lack of mood to blog.Facebook may be one thing,but there will be time I will stopped playing because it's getting nowhere.

Facebook may cause a lost of your social life and behavior.Period.

So therefore,in order to cut down on Facebook,it's better to do blogging and meet up with friends for coffee session.

There are quite a number of things I want to blog,that would be:

1. Church Retreat

2. Combined birthday of Elvin and Raymond

3. HGC Special

Maybe I should just tackle the retreat part on one of this week.I'm kinda busy with things this week(Tuesday and Wednesday Rally rehearsal,Thursday prayer meeting,Friday to Sunday Actual Rally).

Does it mean that I have only Monday to catch my breath?!Oh shocks!

Out of The World

For many months,Wei Liang has been away from the World.

Until now,Wei Liang is trying to come back to the World,but he's stuck in his World.

So how do Wei Liang come back from his World?Probably to do some room tidying,housekeeping and spend some time with his family and friends and less time with his bloody Facebook.

Yeah,this should be his way.It's time for him to meet his friends for supper till the midnight!

Aren't you blogging?

I must admit,facebook is way too addictive.I must try to restrict myself from playing too much of the games and applications inside this website.

But frankly speaking,facebook instead of becoming a place of community and expending a social circle of friends,it became a place of fun and games whereby you make friends just because you want to expend your mafias,vampire friends or whatsoever.

So what is the real purpose of facebook?What makes it different from friendster we used to have?

Anyway just to keep you people update:

1. I finished my Army half marathon 1 month ago and the feeling is super tiring.I short-circuited my handphone(and it was back again by buying another new set of battery),having some kind of painful abrasion around my you-know-where and my leg is kinda un-walkable the next day.

I didn't managed to take part in the Standard Chartered run this year due to budget constrain,which mean I've only achieve 50% of one of my New Year Resolution.

2. My camera went hay-wired 2 weeks after the Army Half Marathon.When I tried to take a picture,the camera gave a beep sound and the focusing lens is unable to retract back to its original position.After several minutes of troubleshooting,I finally made it retract.

However,this camera is unfit for shooting.Think I have to take this to the service centre before my brother went mad seeing the faulty camera.

3. August is a really bad month for me.Every single misfortune is caused by water.Rainy days to be exact.

4. Indeed God provides.I wanted badly a guitar to practice playing with it(if I have the time)and behold!A guitar rested gently inside my parent's bedroom.I has only 5 strings and it requires a fine tuning.Perhaps William can help me or something.

5. 1 down 11 to go.If you know what I'm saying.

6. Oh when do we get to celebrate Elvin and Raymond's birthday?Waiting for Glenn to come back?

It was until I saw this design few weeks ago and I decided to buy this t-shirt.The cute mischievous Mr Fox!

Actually I do love fox,I love all sorts of furry cuddly animal,that will include wombat as well.If I have a chance to go Australia,I would like to hug the wombat.

Look Young In Old Age

Sorry people that I neglected my blog once again.It was due to the fact that I'm busy ~~hooking on to my facebook playing Mafia War,Farmville,Pet Society~~ and going for my bridging course and taking my exam.

You know,ever since I'm having bridging lesson,my time duration at home has been shorted.Even if there's no lesson during the weekend,I was tight with all my church activities and other stuff.

Oh yeah,going for the SAFRA run next week.Another weekend gone.

Swimming?That was like 2 months ago.

Oh crap,I miss my breakfast around my area.The Tiong Bahru curry puff,the bee hoon and the fried carrot cake.

I seriously need a break from all these thing.I need a deep sleep from 11pm until 11am.Arrrggggg!!!!!!

Study may cause you to stress and makes you looked old.That is why I need to take care of my health.

But then,I got people telling me that I looked young.This means that I actually preserve my ~~beauty~~looks.

Perhaps,all the ex-TIPSian looks young.That will include Junwei and......me?

Hang And Retreat

Last Saturday a we had our own stay-cation at the Hangout hotel.This is the first time a group of us stay in a hotel which is within the area in Singapore.

I was actually very tired after all the point to point trip on that day.First of all,I didn't really had a good rest on Friday(after my ICT).Secondly,I need to go for my PA duty on Saturday.

To make things short,here's my situation:

1. Went for my PA duty from 11am till 12.30pm

2. Rush down to Douby Ghaut to meet Ming Keat and William

3. Check in at the hotel under my name,then rush back to church for choir audition.

4. Was late for my audition(3.30pm),proceed to do my PA duty.

At this point of time,my energy level is slashed by 75%.

To replenish my energy,we had a dinner at one of the restaurant around Little India.

Recommended by Ming Keat and Kelvin,it must be something good.

For starter,we had Tandoori chicken.The meat is well marinated,just that it's kinda salty.

Then we had fish head curry.Very spicy.

Last,we had chicken masala and shell-less crab.The crab meat is very addictive,just because it's nicely shredded.

Their famous filter coffee.I did have my intake of coffee in the morning.But since Ming Keat recommended this drink,I must try it.

They have a special way to process this coffee.FYou need to pour the coffee into the saucer,then back to the cup.Repeat that for 3 to 4 times.

The coffee is very sweet and creamy.I love creamy coffee,but I prefer it to be less in sugar.Anyway,it's a good drink.

Overall,I love their food,especially their special rice.It's very soft and easily digestible.

Going back to the hotel,we have Kelvin and Yan Liang to fill up their name at the counter.

The light goes out and I can't be saved.Tides I tried to swim against.

The room is very simple and clean looking.No TV,no fridge.Who needs them anyway.

Toilet.Alright,nothing special.

We had a sharing session with one another.We shared our personal stuff and we actually heard quite alot from William and Ming Keat.

I shared with them my personal problem and was touched that they're willing to help me overcome this problem.Many times I shared with my friends and what I get from them is just acknowledgment.

The next day:

We went to the top floor for photo taking.The place is just full of plant.

Our group photo.It's been a long time we took a photo as a group.Ming Keat do looks different with his funny face.

Hangout Hotel is a very nice place for accommodation and chills.We booked the room at about $178 per night for 5,which is relatively cheap for a stay in Singapore.Maybe I'll recommend this place for a group gathering.

Came back from my high key reservist training and was so tired after that.It was not due to training,but of a long waiting time during out process period.

Anyway,thank God that He had pull me through the tough training and combat shoot.If not,I won't be here typing my post.

Some of the thing I would like to share during my 2 weeks of training:

1. Tackling study and training at the same time

Going for bridging course and training simultaneously is tough.Firstly,the insufficient time to study for my exam.Secondly,the tedious cycle to get myself out of the camp(need to talk to OC,CSM and PS).But thank God I managed to study for my Principles of Accounting during my combat shoot and outfield training during my little free time that I had.

POA paper was kinda okay,it's just the balancing that gives me one hell of a headache.Anyway,it's over.Just cross my fingers and wait for the result to release.Hopefully I can get a Credit or maybe a Distinction.

2. God actually provides

I got 2 souvenirs for my in-camp training.One was a shoe bag and the other was a toiletry pouch.I didn't actually think of how should I use both of it until I realize it when I took a shower the next day.

I desperately need a toiletry pouch because the one that I currently used was in a bad condition.I searched high and low for a suitable pouch but there was none available.The one closest to it was in the form of a medic pouch.

As for the shoe bag,I always wanted a bag to contain my shoes without the use of a plastic bag.I was withdrawn from buying the shoe bag from World of Sports due to no particular reason and was surprised when they actually gave me this as a souvenir.

God,indeed works in a mysterious way.

3. Combat shoot and Instinctive Drill

Combat shoot was very scary.First of all,it's been 4 years since I've fired live rounds and my skill might be getting rusty.Secondly,the commanders are not really well trained for SAR21.

But still,the combat shoot ran rather smoothly.No people was injured during the shoot but there are people who misplaced their bayonets.Till now,I don't know who's the joker who claimed for the lost bayonet which was found by the officer.

Back to the combat shoot,I was hoping to get the marksman for the shoot because it was an easy money(of $200!).I realized that our detail have 2 Bobo shooters who brings down the overall score with more than 5 ammo left untouched.OH MY GOODNESS!

For me,I did alright for my day shoot and was shocked by my night shoot.I scored 15 and 18 for my day and night shoot respectively.I didn't expect to have scored 18 for my night shoot with 2 ammo left untouched.

We had "Iron Lady" for the last day of ICT.This is the first time I did this and the feeling was quite fun,but combat shoot was better.I did okay for the shoot(6 out of 8).Looks like I'm not really that good at doing day shoot.

4. Rambutan and Durian Session

Not really a fruit session,I get to eat the rambutans during our outfield exercise.Most of them were sour and the meat sticks onto the seed.If you want to know which rambutan is sweet,look out for the ants.

I missed the durian session because of my POA exam.Damn!I have to wait for the next year of ICT.

That's all for my ICT.No information was given for the next ICT.I really hope it won't falls on my exam period.

The Soldier Returns

Came back from a nights out granted by the officer.May be going through this daily book-in/book-out everyday except for next Tuesday due to some exercise.

My third cycle is kinda boring this time.Not much of interaction between the old commanders and new troopers,perhaps no refresher training = no communication?

Anyway,I'll be going outfield next week with the old troopers next week.Hopefully,we'll be able to gain some bonding out of it.Sounds gay,but I love listening to stories from each one of them.

But then,will the OC let me go for time-off from outfield exercise to take my exam?It'll be rather tedious I would say.

Yeah sorry for the lack of updates recently.It was due to the fact that my processor fan actually spoils instead of my power supply.Really felt my heart broked when I wasted $59 for that power supply.

Alright,let's just say it's an investment to make my computer performs better okay?That old power supply is kinda...up lorry pretty soon.

I'll be going back for reservist tomorrow.This will be my third cycle and it's gonna be a 2 weeks of stay in camp.Really hope that they will release us everyday just like the previous 2 cycles.

After my reservist,I'll be going for a stay-cation with Ming Keat and the rest at Mount Emily.It was recommended by Ming Keat but I actually knew this place from Glenn.It was said to be a cozy and rather quiet area and judging from the website it looks good.

That's about all.June indeed is a boring month for me.

The Power Shortage Failure

My power supply in my desktop started to malfunction.

When I switch on the computer,it will actually shut off during certain timing,say one and a half hour time.This is rather frustrating when you're actually trying to type some documents and print out.

Is this the end of my power supply?

Yes,I'll have to change it to a new one,unless I received a sponsor from someone else(to give his old supply to me).Think I need a higher power supply so that it won't get spoiled easily.

Phone Macro It Better

I don't know if it's my camera or is it just me,but I find my camera phone did a better job when comes to macro function.

How I wish I had a Canon G10 or EOS1000D.But then,I've to settle for my study first.Maybe when I graduated,Canon released G12 or EOS2000D.

Dancing Man

Yesterday Kelvin Lee,James and I happened to see an Indian guy outside our church after service.He was like holding a mini radio and danced around on a pavement.He got horned by the incoming vehicles for 3-4 times but he's still dancing all the way.

Kelvin Lee tried to entertain him by doing his own move.I told him not to do it and I actually looked away in disgust.

Actually hor,that Indian guy danced pretty well.No pun intended,he should have join the Bollywood dancer.

Or did we actually caught by the "Just For Laugh:Gag"?

We had western meal at a coffee shop where they serve nice XO fish Bee Hoon.It was recommended by Kelvin Lee who told me that their food is very nice.If Kelvin says it's nice,it must be very nice!

I ordered fish and chips.The fish,together with the fries,is smoking hot!I actually scalded my tongue while trying to eat the whole fries.I had to eat it bit by bit.

The service is excellent too.After the meal,they asked us for some feedback and they shared with us how they prepared the dish.It's rare to find this kind of service in a normal kopitiam nowadays.

The price is rather steep,it's $8.90 for my food.But it's worth the price.Next time,I'll try the chicken leg which Ming Keat ordered.

Not Dead,Not Alive

Back To School

Today was my first day of bridging courses.One word to describe everything: Tired.

I didn't expect going for lecture for 8 hours is a tiring thing to do.1st of all,you got to have the stamina to sustain long hours of lesson,break,lesson,lunch,lesson,break and finally lesson.Perhaps I'll be doing this for another 2 more years or so.

Gladly speaking,the lectures is awesome.The lecturer is humorous,explains everything in details so that people won't get lost.Surprisingly,I didn't fall asleep throughout the lecture.

Didn't get to know the people around me.Blame it on my shyness,or should I say,I'm a hard-to-get?Hehehe.

I'll be going for another 8 hours lecture tomorrow,will be having an exam on Wednesday.Do pray for me that I'll be able to get back my study momentum and also to understand the lecture well.

Something Updating

1. I registered for Accounting and Finance in SMa,University of Murdoch.If nothing screws up,I'll be studying SMa for 2 years.

Right now the 2 worries I've have in my mind was financial support and trying to pick up studying after 6 years of study hiatus.

Anyway,I'll do my best for the bachelor course.

2. I borrowed a GPS from my colleague to track on my running distance.It turns out that I only managed to run 5.7km in about 37 minutes!Looks like I have to explore new routes to cover more distance and change my New Balance shoes.

3. Enjoyed the bowling session yesterday.I didn't know that there are other HGC coming for the bowl too.The game was fun,except that we lack of the cohesion session.Hope that we'll do it better for the next HGC outing.

Meals On Aston

2 weeks ago,we celebrated Kelvin Lee's belated birthday.We were supposed to go JB for some fun and feasting,but the birthday boy choose to be in Singapore rather than over there.So we respect his decision.

We went to Aston Specialty for our lunch.I heard many reviews about this restaurant,both good and bad.It's better to try out their food before making any judgment.

I ordered grilled fish because I'm kinda craving for fish on that day.The fish is not bad and the mashed potato...just need more gravy to it.

I saw many people ordering root beer with their meals,so I followed them.

Kelvin ordered Rib eye steak.

William ordered chicken bolognese.

The bill for my meal turns out to be $10!This is really very reasonable,compared to Botak Jones.But then,Botak Jones has a bigger serving than Aston.Anyway,they didn't include service charge to the meal and GST is already included inside the menu.

Will definitely going back there next time,but will need to make a reservation because the queue during evening time is damn long.

Paint The World With Pictures

How I wish I can do something to decorate my room.

Maybe beautify this room by buying a stack of mahjong paper,colored markers and start drawing some pictures,probably bit by bit everyday,until you filled the mahjong paper with colorful pictures.

If possible,I may want to involve my friends to draw along too.I kinda visualized how the whole pictures may turn out.You can even play a game of "I Spy" with it.

This should be it.I shall get mahjong paper and start painting.

Retreat To The East Part 3

The last day of our HGC retreat.Nothing much we can do,except to play a game of teamwork and revealing our guardian angel.

Right after our breakfast,we had a team building game which was played by the other HGC.I supposed all the HGC had to go through these game.

We appointed Gary as our leader while the other team appointed Pastor Geoffrey.

Most dramatic scissors,paper,stone I've ever seen.

Pastor Geoffrey won.They let us play the game first.

What did we actually go through?

First stage,the ball passing game.5 representatives have to pass the ball simultaneously to the person next to him/her 5 times(used to be 7 times).Another word,to throw 2 balls(in your hands)at the same time.

This is one of the most pek-cek stage we had to go through.We actually dropped the ball for 4th-5th try and managed to make it for the 6th try.At that point of time I was about to give up.Fortunately we don't have to do it 7 times.

Second stage,skipping rope game.5 representative have to jump over the rope for 5 times(again,used to be 7 times).

We have no problem with the jump and we make it on our second try.For the other team,they had to do it a lot of times.

Last stage,through the hoola hoop.Easy one,just that the hoop is kinda small for us.

We won the game using 2 minutes 35 seconds of our time.We're the fastest among the rest of the HGC,just because we don't have to pass the balls 7 times and jump the rope 7 times.

After our game,it's time to reveal the angel.

We have James to start the drum rolling.

Belinda is forever so drama-mama.

As for me,my guardian angel is Ye-ye(knew it all along during day 1)and Ye-ye's angel,coincidentally,is me.

That's all for the angels and mortals.It's a wonderful game indeed to get ourselves working instead of just slacking inside our hotel room doing nothing.

Retreat To The East Part 2

Sorry for delaying the post due to the fact that I'm still overcoming my personal issues.Anyway,after praying to God,I feel much better now.

2nd day of the retreat is what I'm looking forward for.That's because we're going to Pulau Ubin Chek Jawa!I heard some nice stories about Chek Jawa and we can see beautiful coral when the tide is low.I got to see it to believe it.

Had breakfast inside the hotel before moving off.The bacon is very salty.

We are having a scavenger hunt in Pulau Ubin.The rule of this game is simple: Find the things listed in the paper and shoot it(with your camera).

It's Labor Day,this explain the disgusting crowd of people going to Pulau Ubin.

The ferry terminal changed tremendously since the last time I went Ubin,which was like...8 years ago?

And off we go!

This place is so crowded that the mini van had a hard time driving us to Chek Jawa.

Yeah,we took the mini van aka the taxi to our destination.Cost us around $2 per person.However,if you wanna go for the bike,it would be about $6 per hour,plus a hard time trying to navigate to this place.

There's even a desinated parking space for the bicycle at Chek Jawa!

The whole journey is a long and tiring.Tiring thanks to the super hot weather that cause my whole body to perspire like mad.Good thing I've put sunblock to protect my skin,or else I'll be having a major sunburn.

After exploring Chek Jawa,it's time for our lunch.It kinda disappointed that I'm unable to find beautiful corals during the low tide.Anyway,that's the end of our trip.

We had some problem with the van that took us there.First of all,we didn't buy the tickets to go back,until at the point of time his friend helped us to contact him.It took us 30 minutes of our waiting time for the van to arrive.It's our fault for not buying the tickets back.

As for the another batch of group that was led by the female driver,they were less fortunate than us.It took them 1 hour for the female driver to take them back,resulted in late lunch consumption.

First stop restaurant.If I remember correctly,is where we had our dinner with Richard and the rest 9 years ago.

Sweet pork chop.It had a strange taste.Nevertheless,it's great.

Sambal Sotong.Very fresh,very juicy.

Crunchy vegetable which I didn't take.

Sweet and sour fried chicken chop.One of my favorite dishes.

Fried prawn.Usually I don't take prawns with head because I'm lazy to peel it.But for this,the head and the body of the prawn is very easy to peel.No hands are required to peel it.

I don't know why,but we're eating very fast.

An excellent lunch indeed.Simply loved the freshness of each and every of our dishes.

After lunch,it's time for a walk(and a cycle)to digest our food.

Dinner was nothing special.We had dinner at Thaipan but the food that was served is not even Thai style.

Once Was Lost,But Now Am Found

30 minutes just after my emotional post,I received a MSN message from my ex-camp mate.We lost contact since 2007.

When I called him through the handphone,he was crying.I don't know why,but there must be something that struck him.

He apologized to me for what he had done,but in the same way,he thanked me for helping him.But then,I didn't really helped him much.

He told me he accepted Christ during his down peak period(Hallelujah!),and he's currently still looking for a job.Maybe I should invite him one day to come to my church,so that we could have a chat?

Anyway,I'm deeply touched by him.I may not sowed the seed,but I may have done some impact that transform his life.

But I'm still feeling down deep in my heart.There must be something that can overcome this.How can I just let go?

The Flow of Emotions

Just came back yesterday from my trip to KL with my colleagues.I didn't really enjoyed the trip much mainly because I didn't get to explore Pavilion which wasn't there 2 years ago.

In conclusion,too much time wasted doing nothing,unable to cooperate with one another,most of the time there are 2 different groups going their own ways.I don't know,but I rather go out with my church friends for tour(mainly Ming Keat and the rest).There's much assurance going out with them.

I just feel kind of emotional today,not because the tour is quite a failure,but the issues with friends I know.They seems to have issues with there personal life right now.But somehow,it's not for me to handle right now because I do have my own personal problem to settle.The problem that has haunted me for almost 10 years(and still counting).

Because of this problem,I seems to have zero love life.Well,not counting the love between me and God.

Perhaps I should find time talking with the pastor?Will they accept my problem?My mind just can't think right now.

Retreat To The East Part 1

Last Thursday I was away for my HGC retreat and I would say,one of the best church camp I had so far.

I thought it would be a 3 days 2 nights worth of sermon,prayer,sermon,prayer and a handful time of relaxation.No way.It was a time for us to relax and most importantly,to build up the bonding with the HGC member.

The new Queenstown is there for about 1 year 2 months and yet we are unable to bring out the closeness with one another.That's why the retreat is here to help us get together,with some cooperative games to strengthen our unity circle.

I didn't take a full day leave before the retreat as I find it unnecessary to do so.Moreover,I didn't have lots of leave in my hand.I got to save up for the next possible scheduled leave.

Anyway when I reached Tanah Merah,some of my HGC members were still waiting for the bus.I did came there just in time.

It was a very long journey from Tanah Merah to Changi.I should have board a bus from Tampines.It would be much faster.

We reached Changi Village Hotel after 25 minutes of bus ride.I hope I could have just sleep in the bus,but I can't.

The first thing we did was to grab the room key and throw our baggage into the room.Kelvin Lee joined me later.Got to apologized to him for not waiting for him to go in together.Yeah,I'll be sharing a room with him for 3 days.This brings back some memory where we also shared the same room with Jonathon 7 years ago.

I really don't know how should I phrase it.I think I have not been doing a regular blogging for this month.It's basically all the little bits of here and there that look as if you feel reluctant to blog.

That's the end of April for you,and I'm feeling kinda tired during April.Not in the physical sense,but of mental tiredness.I really hope that the retreat tomorrow and the trip next week will lighten me up.

I realized jogging is not only a good form of exercise,it's also a ways that helps me not to think too much of the things happened around me.The more drained you are,the lesser you think.However,that doesn't mean you don't need God to help you.

Halfway done packing up my stuff.Can't really wait for the trip tomorrow.

Hey Hey Hey Beautiful Sunday

First of all,the egg-citing race.The plan is kinda rushed to me and I was appointed as the event committee only 2 weeks after the race.Well,there's still more things for us to plan this year.

We had a fun time with the egg-citing race with all the HGC groups trying hard to find clues to the next stop or something.I was stationed at the upper room to "tekan" the bunch of people by asking them to spell out the word with their butt.Nothing amusing,but it's fun to "tekan" people once in a while.

The clue,to them,is rather easy.One of them sound out that people actually sabotage the clue by placing it in another place.People,where's the sport integrity?

Didn't take any photos for the event.Everything just moved so fast with all the groups finished the race within 20 minutes.Must be the empire giving to much of a clue.Hor hor...

Anyway hope that we can organized a better event.The next event would probably be during the National Day.Maybe event like car-boot sales is good.

I realized that my commitment to the church is getting more.First,the PA duty.Second,Singing group for Saturday@5.Third,the event committee.But I won't wanna complain too much about the suffocate-me-with-piles-of-responsibility-to-me,instead I should thank God that I can serve Him more than just a PA crew.

Oh really?

Yeah,think it in a positive way...for now.

Next,the star award 2009.Not much of a upset,only things like the time limit speech buzzer and the "president star charity" lookalike performance while announcing the winner.

The time limit speech buzzer is something new.It limits the time for the winner to give their thanksgiving speech so that the show will end at the right time.Who's cock idea is this?

The "president star charity" lookalike performance?Just another creative way to present the winner.Do you REALLY need magic tricks to announce the winner?After watching the model helicopter trying to deliver the card to the announcer,the thought in my mind was: Will they send in the SOP to pass the envelope to the announcer by heli-repelling down to the stage?

I just bought a new monitor today(sponsored by my brother).It was a 21.5" wide screen LG monitor.

When I got hold of the new monitor,I was like a child holding on to his new toy.I immediately setup the monitor and see how the resolution of a wide screen looked like.

I was shocked by the wideness.Even my blog looks kinda small and there was a huge wastage of space.It looks like I got to find a new blog skin that can really hold this wide screen so that it won't look ugly when I look at it.

I started to love the new monitor very much.Very sleek,very...wide.

My monitor died on me 2 days ago.At that time I was happily surfing the net for some untrustworthy wikipedia information when suddenly the monitor just went black and I smell a burning smell coming out from the monitor.

At that point of time,I had a sense of lost in myself.No DS(exchanged with Ming Keat for PSP),no PC and no net surfing.I had to find other entertainment(such as PSP and handphone)to ease the boredom.

Should I repair my monitor?It may takes a very long time for it to get repaired.The technicians takes a long time dragging the case.Should I just buy a new set instead?Maybe.I'll have to go Sim Lim Square to take a look.

Meanwhile,I'll have to update my blog through the company's computer.

Dinner's On Me

2 weeks ago we had a wonderful dinner at Ming Keat's house.He used to boost that he can make nice dishes and what he did and how.As a half skeptical(on Ming Keat's skill)person,I decided to give it a try.

When we arrived at his place,his table was filled with 3 weird dishes.Thing I had never seen before.1st,we have the asparagus and golden pin mushroom wrapped with bacon.

Apply some gravy on it.

2nd dish: Ming Keat's creation.Golden pin mushroom with asparagus.The moment I looked at the dish I thought it was magee mee.

3rd dish: A salad-like dish with carrot.It was known to be well known food from another country.

4th dish: Came when we arrived.Cream of mushroom with...golden pin mushroom.3 dishes filled with mushroom and that's a wow.

5th dish: Main course dinner.Pasta with mushroom cream sauce and bacon.The spaghetti is rather soggy,due to the fact it was soaked for too long thanks to us.

6th dish: Potato salad.I loved putting bacon bits in it until very "gao gao"(thick).

7th dish: A dessert.Caramel jelly-like thing with condensed milk.

At first the told me that they wanted to get me an Oktomat for my birthday,but they can't find it.I can't possibly blame them for all this.Firstly,it was the thought that counts.I won't want to go around begging for presents,but it's better to give lah.Ironic me.Secondly,it's very hard to find this camera.It's not those typical digital camera you can find anywhere in the city.It's a camera meant to take 8 images at period of 2 seconds.

Damn they got me this time!It's the camera I'm looking for!

6 days passed since my birthday and I've not been updating.Looks like I'm only doing this every weekend?

Anyway,last week was a great week for me.Firstly,my HGC celebrating my birthday.Secondly,my church friends celebrating for me and lastly,just 5 days ago,my company friends.Not trying to be a showoff here,but this is by far one of the best celebration.

Every year I always think for myself: There's a curse sealed in me that when my birthday is there,it doesn't end up well.But hey,God has never forget about you during your birthday!So lesson learned from Pastor Chee Khim(last year):Count your blessings.

I don't know what to say,but God,thank You for blessing me with friends that cares for me,rebuking me for the wrong things I've done and not to forget a wonderful HGC that has all my former HGC friends.

Make Minimum

I'm so happy that I've passed my IPPT with an incentive.However I'm sad that I didn't managed to get silver for it,mainly because of chin-ups,SBJ and 2.4km.

I don't know why,whenever I went for my IPPT,my heart beats faster than usual.Maybe it's because my test window is closing in another 2 days time and I die-die have to pass it.If only I calm myself down,I would have sub 12 for my 2.4km.

After looking at this result,I wanted to find a buddy that can help me with improving my chin-ups.I don't think I can do 5 chin-ups next year.As for SBJ,I shall start doing tuck jumps.

The new running route was boring,but it's good because you can say goodbye to the 3x800m running route under the hot sun.I didn't know I was one of the slowest runner for the 2.4km.When the timing starts,I can see 5th and 6th detail(me being the 3rd) people overtaking me.Those athletic runners are killing my morale!

Lesson learned: Go invest in a proper light-weight running shoes.

I think they should some encouragement remark on the result slip next time.This should help them when they went for their IPPT next time.Maybe remarks such as "You should eat more chicken drumstick to improve your running","My girlfriend runs faster than you" would be good.

You know,March is the period whereby me and my polytechnic friends will spent money like crazy.Where does the money goes?Birthday presents and dinner.

Without further delay,I'll start off with Glenn's birthday celebration:

15/03/2009 Soup Restaurant @ Paragon

Finally I am spared from eating Dan Ryan!Yeah!!!!!!!!

We were supposed to had dinner at Imperial Restaurant,but it was not what Glenn wanted,as the restaurant served Teochew style food.To Glenn,Teochew style is all the steamed fish and watery porridge.

In the end,we settled our dinner at Soup Restaurant.

It's been a long time since we had Soup Restaurant.The previous time was somewhere 4 years ago.

Samsui ginger chicken.

Beggar Bowl Tofu.

Meat Patty with Preserved Egg.The black sauce is very addictive.

Sliced fish.The taste is kinda so-so.

Sambal Kangkong.Very salty.

Yang Chow fried rice to go with our main dish.

Glenn and I had Gui Ling Gao for desserts...

while Raymond and Elvin had Xue Ge.

I had a hard time enjoying the dish as I had a terrible flu.It's so bad that I had to go to a nearby Guardian Pharmacy to buy the flu pill.I would say,the yellow pill did wonders to my nose.It actually stopped me from sneezing after some time but you'll feel drowsy afterward.Say goodbye to those overpriced Panadol that doesn't help when I had a sensitive nose.

20/03/2009 Sushi Kikuzawa @ International Building

It was a very bad move planned by me.I didn't know 2 of my friends,Elvin and Glenn don't really like eating raw sushi.

Anyway I always wanted to try this restaurant,after hearing alot of nice feedback from my friends and colleagues.

When we found the restaurant,we had a shock: The restaurant is very small.It's those small restaurants you normally see in manga or drama where office people go there to have a drink and eat ramen.Elvin was kinda regret going there.

I kinda like how they prepare the sushi and how they used flame torch(don't know what you call that)to cook the unagi in such a way it was semi raw.

The soup base is light for the heart.

If I'm not wrong,swordfish sushi.

Overall,the sushi is good and the raw fish is quite fresh.Other then that,I don't quite like the menu display(no pictures)and the meat-rice distribution of the sushi(90% rice,10% meat,we ended up like eating 2 bowls of rice).Oh another thing would be their customer service:it's rather badddddddd.

I was actually demoralized when they actually gave me a contact lens for my birthday.But since it was the thought that counts,I had to accept it.They passed me the deposit receipt and told me to collect it within 7 days.

In fact,it was the receipt that give everything away.

The real present happens to be an Adidas jacket,which was what I wanted in my wishlist.Materialistic me.

Anyway thanks for the olive green jacket.I really like it very much.I shall wear it during my church retreat or KL trip.

Spooky Lift

Ever since the stormy weather happened in our Jurong Area last Sunday,the lifts had been working strangely.

It seems like the first 2 lifts are malfunctioning.Despite undergoing some lift maintenance for the past few days,the lifts doesn't work well.I suspected that the lift technicians are not doing their job well.

Anyway,the lift goes like this: When you pressed the button to where you want to go up to,say,5th floor,the lift will go up as per normal.But when it arrived at the 5th floor,there's a 70% chance that the door will not open by itself.You had to press a certain "cheat code button" to open the lift door.If you failed to do so,the lift will continue to go up to the max level and went back to the 1st floor.At this point of time,you probably had to take the stairs,cursing and swearing at the stupid machine.

Only the 3rd lift worked normally.However the chance of getting it may probably be 10% because most of the time the priority will go to the 1st lift,which is the crazy lift.

I don't wish to take a flight of stairs back to my home,especially in the middle of the night.I hope the technicians will do something about it.

8th One For The Year

Finally a 8th t-shirt after 5 months.I would say,it was bought at quite a reasonable price and the shipment came earlier than what they stated.

Close up shot of the t-shirt.I simply loved the design of the bird:very cute.If that designer were to print the lion t-shirt,I would want to buy it.You probably won't be able find this design anymore as it was only available for 24 hours.After that,it's gone forever.

Seems like I'm checking on their website almost everyday for nicer design of clothes.

Leave or No Leave

My company was discussing about the scheduled leave almost everyday without fail.That leaves me thinking: why do we have to force ourselves to take leave when we're not happy with it?

After talking to several of my colleagues,I've realized that having a scheduled leave is better than getting your pay cut.

Take it this way: when you go for scheduled leave,you'll be able to spend time with your loved ones and maybe your friends whom you really want to meet up long time ago.Moreover,you'll still get the same pay with lesser working days and this also helps the company to cut costs like electrical bills.

However,when you go for a pay cut,you'll eventually had to work as usual without lesser working days.This,in fact,is a out of the box common sense I failed to see.

Speaking of spending time with your friends and loved ones,I may want to visit some of my old friends and also to watch movies that has been collecting dust for quite some time.

Two Weeks Later

I don't know is it just me,but everything around me seems to be falling apart for the past 2 weeks.

Firstly,my daily job.What could I say?Everything slow down,no much of a task to do,task that was assigned to me doesn't turns up well.Well,that's sort of the usual stuff you had to go through almost everyday.

Wait,it doesn't stops here.One day I was having a deep craving for milk and I decided to buy it from the canteen.I was shocked by the price of the 200 ml milk.It cost me $1 for a freaking small amount of lactose!I believed that it's much cheaper to buy it from outside until I went to the minimart to check out the pricing.

Indeed,it cost $1 for one small packet of milk,$1.85 if you buy 2 packets with promotion.With this amount of money,I rather suck the nipple of a cow.

Secondly,my HGC.I realized that the members are getting lesser each week.Some of them had their own work to do,few of them had their unsolved issues,not much of a good communication was done so far.Was it because of the financial crisis?

Oh yes,one more thing.The HGC is getting quiet because the neighbour next door stopped their weekly mahjong session.It kinda distracting when the sound of the mahjong tiles makes your mind goes elsewhere,thinking of the hand motion and the set you're going to make.Anyway,it's all good that the session has come to an end for now.

Thridly,Glenn's leaving to the States.The farewell party went quite well,apart from some minor issues.There's so much things I wanted to do for Glenn but was stumbled by the lack of time and supporting manpower.The JB trip for tomorrow was cancelled due to Elvin and Raymond not free.

With Glenn's flying of around the 21st and most of us doesn't had time to spare.I would want to put a big STOP to what I want to do now.It's kinda faustrating when you had to let go of your plan and went for a normal celebration instead.

I would say no to going Dan Ryan.How many times do I have to show you the pictures of Glenn's birthday celebration at this restaurant for the past 2 years?!Please,go for something asian.He could have all the Dan Ryan-like food over at the States.

Recently Airasia had a new traveling destination with a airfare promotion from Kuala Lumpur to London for only S$311(one way ticket excluding airport tax and other surcharge)!This is indeed a great offer not to be missed.

I hope to go there someday,but right now I had my other priorities,which is going for further study,getting a driving license and making braces for my teeth.IF I were to go there,I'll visit the London Bridge,the Big Ben,getting a Mohawk hairstyle,and and and (I can't think of any).

The only thing I don't like about this advertisement is the slogan.Maybe there's nothing wrong with the Now Everyone Can Fly Xtra Long,but who on Earth wants to fly a very long journey from one place to another?Perhaps it's just me.

Maybe they can put Now Everybody Can Fly Further,but it will make the slogan rather dull.

Smoke Gets Into Your Eyes

I thought of going for my weekly jog but I had to cancel it when I smelled smoke.

Strange enough,I don't see any haze around my area,but the smell of the smoke is strong,really strange.My Mother told me it was due to the Indonesia forest fire.When I checked the website for more detail,it was because of the fire in Bukit Batok.

Looks like I have to stop my jogging session until further instruction.

Will stop jogging today makes Wei Liang a fat boy?Not at all.I went for a swim yesterday and managed to complete 15 laps(to and forth = 1 lap)in less than 1 hr and 15 minutes,1 stop and a bloody sunburn.I'll try to swim again this Thursday without stopping.This shall be my aim for this week.

Trapped In An Island Part 5

Just a summed up conclusion before ending this Super draggy Langkawi post.

1. I really enjoyed myself for this trip,especially at the last day we actually shared with one another what we're going to do in future.It's been a very long time since we shared,so it's all good.

2. We missed a lot of nice scenery in Lnagkawi.The Lae of the Pregnant Maiden,the waterfalls,mangrove swamp,the cave,the cable car and the eagle feeding.

3. Bring lots of money when going Langkawi.Average spending in a restaurant is around RM$25 to RM$40 per person.Don't forget,this island is a touristy area.

4. Rent a car.This is a must to those who wants to travel around the island.Bring along a friend who knows how to drive.

5. Our hotel sucks.The shower just cannot make it and the toilet bowl had a weak flushing system.Say no to budget hotel.

6. Ask the islander for recommendation.They are a bunch of friendly people who would help you with getting good food,accommodations and places of interest.

7. Kelvin is always sleepy.Period.

Trapped In An Island Part 4

Day 3 of Langkawi: Woke up very late for breakfast.We were supposed to go to one of the hotel for dim sum breakfast,but since the dim sum starts at 10am,we decided to move off around 9.30am.

The restaurant is kinda empty when we get there;not a single customer was inside.We started to think that we got our timing(day and time)wrong for the buffet.It was until when we were served by the floor manager when we went in.

As we can see,no customer.

Fried rice with some dim sum.

I like the yam puff.It is stuffed with yam and some meat.Other than that,the rest are so-so.

Chee Cheong Fun and fried wanton.What a weird combination.

We continue to move on to another jetty,where we had our lunch over there with all the nice looking yacht.

For lunch,we went to The Loaf Bakery & Bistro where they served very nice bread and sandwiches.

First off,we had some freshly made bread.The taste is so different from what we had from breadtalk;this bread actually melts in your mouth.

I had a prawn sandwiches.I like how they use herbs to add fragrance to the food.

Overall,I loved the sandwiches and the ambiance.I checked from the website that there is another one in KL,so for those who wants to try out their food,you can go to The Pavilion.

We proceed to look for more beaches and waterfall.We came to a place where we encountered many sharp bends along the way.It's like playing a game of initial D,but this one is real.Ming Keat tried doing drifting and it left us almost vomiting.

Night Time

Back to the resort,we played a game of asshole daidee before we went for our dinner.

For dinner,we had Northern Indian cuisine.We wanted to go to the Italian restaurant(next to it)but it was fully occupied and had to wait for another 45 minutes.

The ambiance is so dimly lit that my camera is unable to capture the place with the flash on.Even William's DSLR can't do any tricks to capture it.

The food is very nice,especially the beef.The beef is so addictive and it's well marinated.The only problem about this place is the long waiting time for the food to come and the poor service.When Ming Keat asked about the detail about the coffee,he got the reply of "oh this one very long one".

What very long?You mean the cup very long or what.No lah,it's the long waiting time for the coffee to come.I wonder if they're really lazy to prepare this coffee or what.

Another thing: The fruit juice just sucks big time.The carrot juice is REALLY carrot juice with no added apple or orange in it.Good for those who are going for diet.

Burning Issue

One fine morning,you are taking a long nus journey from Jurong to...say,City Hall.The journey was quite until suddenly you feel the pain in your stomach.It was very unbearable.You blame the laksa that you ate yesterday.

You wanted to get out of the bus when you see any shopping centre/MRT stations nearby.

The problem is:you're in the middle of the expressway.

You decided to endure the pain.Think about the happy things,about the wonderful movie you've watched,just to forget about the pain you're having right now.It works,but for a while.

Finally,you saw a MRT station.You alight immediately.

The toilet you're about to go shows "under renovations until 15th February 2009.Sorry for the inconvenient caused."

You cursed and sweared after reading the signboard.With a sense of urgency,you quickly rushed to find a nearby shopping centre.

But there was none to be found.

So what you gonna do when this happened?What you gonna do?!

It happened to me sometime when I'm waiting for the bus to work,not to the extend it's so drama like the situation stated above.It's rather torturing for me to just endure the stomachache from my journey to work.Is there something wrong with my digestive system?

Resolutions of 2009

Before we mark the end of January(with still an outstanding Langkawi trip photos),I shall list down some of the resolution for 2009 that I've set:

1. Participate in at least 2 half or full marathon

Something I hope to achieve for in 2009.This resolution was set during November when I decided to go for something which I find it impossible.Currently the 3 marathon which I could think of is Sundown,AHM and Standard Chartered.I'll have to find out more from marathon runner like Gary.Keke...

2. Read 7 books this year

Why not 6?Why not 8?Initially I thought of reading 6 books,but my collegue challenge me to read 7,as 6 books is too slow(1 book per 2 months).Alright,7 books should be okay,it's a nice number anyway.

3. Learn Guitar and compose a song

Ongoing resolution for the past 2 years.

4. Getting myself 6-pac(or at least shape up)

This is getting nowhere.Since when Wei Liang becomes a fitness freak wanting a tone body?That's because when I put on my t-shirt I can see my belly bloating out which I find it rather unsightly that I had to buy myself a large t-shirt despite of my small size I should get a medium I should get a medium I should....

This will be the resolution I had so far.There may be more coming up,eventually something new will come into my mind for the next few months.

We Take A Short Break

I realized that the first 2 days of Chinese New Year seems to be very short.In a blink of an eye it's the start of a new day of work.

It's rather boring at day 3 of New Year in the office.Almost everybody is still in their holiday mood.About 80% of my colleagues are not working today as they took leave for today.At least some peace and quiet,but too peaceful for goodness sake.

So what did I do for the first 2 days of New Year?Simple movie and visitation.

Day 1:

No visitation,not even bother to move out of the house to catch the eclipse.Instead I went to catch a movie "Love Matters" with Pamela,Clara and Ya Ling.I'm the rose among the thorns!Woohoo!!!

Filmed in Malaysia,this is about a married couple having some problems with their marriage life.It's those typical husband wants it but wife don't want but when wife wants husband cannot.Yeah,something like that.

I would say it's rather uncommon to watch something "crude" from Jack Neo such as making fun of the impotent-ness and some sexual related jokes.Overall,the movie seems to lack of a wonderful story line with meanings.

Overall,it's quite a funny show to watch and it's suitable for those who wanted to take something light during this New Year season.

Day 2:

Went to my colleague's house for a visit.It's rather rare for a colleague to open up her house for visitation.She cooked some dishes for us and I would say I like the friend wanton very much,not to mention the curry chicken and the wonderful desserts.

After this I rushed off to visit Pastor Bee Tin.When I reached her place,all the people had left.That means I got to finish up some of the food over there.

Walnut cake bought from Swiss Bakery.I simply looooooooved the dark chocolate chips inside the cake.It's known to contain no preservatives and low in sugar(based on my tongue when I taste this).

Some old school drinks bottles from Malaysia.It's quite rare to see this in Singapore nowadays.Maybe you'll get to see those from the drink stall outside esplanade.Go on,try your luck over there.

Day 3:

Gosh!I'm working on day 3!Hello reality.

Taking a break from the Langkawi post.

Happy New Year Eve to everyone.Think other than Christmas,Chinese New Year is another busy day for each one of us.If you're not busy dong spring cleaning or buying New Year goodies and clothings,then you're actually not celebrating Chinese New Year.

Before day 1 of New Year coming,here are some points for me:

1. Enough of the Chinese 牛 year and claim that it's something new and creative.I've heard this 12 years ago.

2. Not going to enjoy the New Year show by the mediacorp.Most of them are doing lip syncing of New Year songs.

3. Dragon is the only animal Astrologist love and they're always the case of good fortune.

4. Will the 财神 go on with the song 财源滚滚来?

5. I may sound jaded,but every year the New Year spirit getting weaker.

6. I'm free on 初一,but busy on 初二.No relative visitation on the first day but will be busy planning out schedule on where to visit on the second day.

7. Let pray that after the New Year,the economic crisis will go for the better.

Last of all,wish all of you a Happy New Year of the Ox.

Trapped In An Island Part 3

Here we are on day 2.5 of Langkawi,with Kelvin Lee already in his sleep mode on.With Kelvin sounding asleep,what I'm most worried was whether if the hotel stuff contacted the agency.

In fact,we did.Praise the Lord!But Ming Keat wasn't happy that we are put in a room that was not supposed to be ours,with a RM$30 refund.Which means,we are staying in a lower quality room.Oh well...

After taking a short rest,we proceed to another nicer beach.It's slightly further to where we stayed with so called "better view" of the sunset.

The sand is very dry,that makes it easy to clean of when it sticks to your body,except your hair.I find it very hard to remove all the sand particles on my hair.I need help on that.

They had me covered with sand,making a nice figure for me.

Trying to make a firmer boobs for me.

It's done.But then don't have nice contour leh.

Watching the sun sets.

At night,we went to Wonderland seafood restaurant which Jenny recommended.With the help from the local,this place should be very good.

We had the friendly uncle to serve us.He even showed us his humongous prawn he had in his store.

See how big is this?No,this is not a close up shot.

As the prawn over here cost RM$8 per 100g and 3 of them weight about 1kg,we decided to get the smaller ones instead.

First off,we had fried fish with special(ABC)sauce.This fish was cut one side and the other side goes to the...

steamed fish.What a way to get us eat fish which was cooked in 2 different kinds of way.

We also ordered one fish with special chilli spice.Don't thinks that's belachan.

Tofu with mixed vegetable.

Chicken with lemongrass sauce.They had a special name for that.

Fried Kang Kong with belachan.

La-la.Some of them were left unopen.I was told not to force open the shell.

The slightly smaller version of the monster prawn.Check out the comparison between the prawn and the knife.

Or-lua.They don't have those flour taste compared to our local ones.

Fried calamari.This is one of my favorite dish.I think they put some kind of special powder to marinate them,that's why it's so addictive.

We were munching all the way,leaving us no time to even talk to one another.Different kinds of dishes were served in a short period of time until at the point of time when the next dish came,our table is filled with plates with food unfinished.

Overall,the food is fresh and the service is up to standard.For your information,this restaurant serves halal food.The total cost is RM$178(一起发!),which is worth the money for 5 of us.

Next up,we went to Sun Cafe(another Jenny's recommendation)to chill up.

The layout is quite relaxing and posh looking.

Overall,I loved the warm looking environment and definately will go back there again if I were to go back next time.

Day 2 in Langkawi

We actually slept very early yesterday(about 8pm)because of our tiredness,so we ended up waking up around 6 am,which is just early enough to catch the sun rise.

We tried to find the way to a good spot for sun rise,but we can't seems to see the road very clearly.In the end,we didn't get to catch it and had to go for breakfast instead.

We ended up in an Malay/Indian coffee house near the town area for breakfast.They sell decent chepati,chicken,beef,mutton and sotong curry.

The curry sauce is very spicy and the chepati is very healthy stuff.Other than that,the chicken is hard to break and nobody touched the sotong.

We took a walk at the Jetty Oint trying to find the eagle William mentioned about.We finally found it after a few drive-around.

And as I wait,I rise up like the eagle.

After a nice breathe of air breeze,we proceed on to look for nice beaches in Langkawi.We went to Tanjong Rhu Beach which was known to be one of the nicest beach in Langkawi.It took us around 20 minutes just to get there.

And here we are,Tanjong Rhu Beach.

There is a hotel located near the beach which cost us RM$1500 per night.I don't think we have the money to do this.

Notice the floating sand at the left-hand-side?It only appears during low tide and yes,that area is walkable.In order to reach there,you have to take a swim.

We kinda lost our way and ended up in Seven Well waterfall.Since we're already ended up here,we decided to check out the waterfall.

It was a steep up-slope to the waterfall.We were panting when we're only halfway to the top.

Trapped In An Island Part 1

1st January 2009,5 men from different parts of Singapore went on a journey they'll never forget.

Alright,it's finally time for me to post up my Langkawi trip photos after a long delay.We did went for the overnight prayer meeting for 2008,and eventually we dismissed ourselves earlier to Woodlands Checkpoint area to have our supper.

3:10 am : William decided to meet us later at the checkpoint.Finally this is the first time 5 of us went for the country getaway.

3:30 am : There isn't a single people queuing up at the Singapore Custom,the queue line is not even open yet!We had to proceed to the office to get our passport checked and move on to the Malaysia custom.

3:45 am : The bus to the Malaysia custom is yet to operate.We had to take a long walk to the custom.Damn,I tell you,this will be my first and the last time I'm gonna do this.It was a super long walk without any proper path for us to walk on and we had to walk to an up-slope to the new custom.By the time we were there,we were perspiring like mad.

5:00 am : We arrived to the bus station where we can took a bus to Senai Airport.As the bus service only operates at 5:30 am,we have to wait while feeding the mosquitoes.

5:30 am : Bus came,time to sleep for 45 minutes!

6:15 am : Arrived at Senai Airport.It's the time for breakfast over there.As our flight begins at 9:10 am,we had lots of time to spare.

I had my Nasi Lemak breakfast at Merrybrown.It's not very good stuff;the chicken got those flour taste and the coffee sucks.

8:15 am : Went up to the departure hall to get prepared.The waiting area is quite nice;we could get some sleep over there.

9:10 am : We departed for our journey to KL.That is where we had to do a transfer to Langkawi.

9:45 am : Arrived at KL.Another waiting time until 11:25 am.

11:45 am : Flight delayed for quite some time,but it doesn't matter.The air stewardess is pretty.*giggle*

12:45 am : Finally arrived at Langkawi!It's sunny over there...for a while until it drizzles.

When we arrived at Langkawi,the first thing we did was to rent a car.This is where we had our first argument started.Ming Keat wanted a big car,but William and Yan Liang wanted a smaller one.The discussion went on and on until at the point of time we decided on a Toyota Vio.But since the Vio is not ready yet,we get to take Nissan Serena for a short period of time.

Indeed big car is very spacious.My whole body can move around without any problem,let alone stretching my legs.

2:10 pm : We arrived at Langgura Baron Resort.It's a budget hotel that we booked.

The second argument which becomes a quarrel start when the room that we booked did not reflect on their list.As we are not Bahasa Malaysia trained,we let the half trained Ming Keat do the talking.

We happened to realize that the agency didn't summit our list to the hotel,so we were told to pay the full hotel amount(again)to book the room until they got the agency's prove.After 15 minutes of argument with the stuff and manager(through the phone),we only get to pay a smaller amount.

But William did not like the idea of paying up even as we already paid for it.He thinks that we should never give in to them.Kelvin Lee partially agreed.So the whole quarrel revolves around the hotel stuff,Ming Keat,William and Kelvin.

The whole thing only resolved when we actually paid the token of amount,get the room and settled with one another.

That is the problem with more people,as more people = different idea and thinking.We sort ourselves up and we learned from one another one thing: we should build up our unity from this trip.No point making so many argument until you don't really enjoy the trip.

3:45 pm : Everything settled in peace.We took a walk at the beach near our area.Not as fantastic as it seems.It looked like one we had in East Coast.

4:00 pm : We went to find a place to had our lunch,with our Toyota Vio.We had a hard time finding a suitable place to eat.The restaurant were either closed or not in our area of interest.

5:30 pm : Our stomach were growling like thunder and we had to settle with a decent chicken rice dinner at a foodcourt.

William's Nikon D40.Without it,we won't be able to capture harder shots.

We had tea session at a shop called Mountain Scents.We met a nice lady called Jenny and she offered us cookies free of charge!

Bad to Worse

I realized that the more I used photobucket to upload my photos,the more faustrated I become.

Seriously,I don't know what the hell happened to that bloody website.It was used to be such a user friendly website until at the point of time they decided to make the whole interface attractive.

However,attractive != better functionality.

It took me 1/2 hour just to wait for all my photos to finish displaying on the screen.The copy and paste function is the most screwed up system I ever had in my life.I don't even know why do you have to roll-over a certain image to display the list of HTML codes and then it can't even do a simple auto copy.Yes,auto copy works far more better in its previous version.

Now I have to delay my post once again thanks to photobucket.Can anyone give me a better website to upload my photos?

The Self Satisfying Author

One fine morning,while he was busy working his bone on a certain project,an SMS alert ringtone sounded out from his handphone.

It was a thank you message from his friend,because of his hard work effort he puts in to help him from his difficult situation.He grinned when looking at the message.

15 minutes later,he took out his handphone,looked at the message,and smiles again.

Another 15 minutes later,he relaxed for a while,took out his handphone,and yes,he smiles one last time before continuing on with his work.

The Gathering

Before ending year 2008,I had dinner with my Polytechnic friends at Bedok Market.It's been a long time since we meet up for meal and keeping ourselves updated.It's difficult to organize a simple meal such as the dim sum buffet with them.

Anyway,we had our usual stuff(Carrot cake,hokkien mee).We were so lucky to have the last carrot cake that we ordered last time.I simply love carrot cake with prawns in it.

Glenn announced to us that he'll be attached to USA this coming March.It's both happy and sad news for us.Happy in the sense that it's an unforgettable experience for him to learn.Bad in the sense that we'll be celebrating one another's birthday without him.

We won't be seeing him after March for at least 2 years.Maybe we'll get to see him once every year.

After that,we went to explore the "new" Terminal 3.

When Glenn is trying to find a parking lot,we saw a Aston Martin.

Terminal 3 is so much different from the other 2 terminal.It looked like a glasshouse with all the reflections here and there.Even the floor tile is so reflective,thanks to the cleaner uncles and aunties.Ladies,be careful not to wear any skirt over there.

Coming 2009

Yesterday I got home from a 4 days 3 nights Langkawi trip.What I can say is that this trip simply cause me to spent beyond what I plan to.

Overall,it's an enjoyable trip with William,Yan Liang,Kelvin Lee and Ming Keat.We encountered obstacles along the way,we quarreled,we shared our goals,and not to forget enjoying good food.

There are tons of photos I wanted to post,priority being the mini outing with my Polytechnic friends.It's good to keep one another update before ending the year 2008.

As for the Langkawi trip,I may have to proceed without William's photos first.I'll try to get his photos after he came back from his Thailand trip.

Last but not least,happy belated Happy New Year.

Christmas Isn't Over,It Has 12 Days

Another 2 more days to my Langkawi trip.While all my tour buddies are thinking of what they're going to do over there,I'm much worried about the jam at the causeway that will cause us to miss the flight.

But I shall not worry too much about the jam,just pray and leave everything to God.

The Christmas celebration was unbelievable.I didn't expect the sanctuary to be fully filled with people.Indeed God blessed us with more visitors this year.Amen.

The drama was good,the carol choir was fantastic,except for the minor hiccups during the introduction.When Cheng Yong was doing his own solo,everybody clapped for him.This came as a mini surprise to the crowd that the conductor is singing as well.

And how can we not forgetting the youths.Every year they came out with all their power to the people,the light stick in the dark and the special lighting effect done by Eugene.Though the youths did not really project their voices(still),the performance is still a memorable one.

After the service,we went West Coast Plaza for dinner.Took a free ride from Richard's car and when James and Brenda joined in as well,I realized that I'm in the middle of the couple,that makes me a light bulb in between.Sylvy was like laughing hysterically,with Richard teasing me.

Oh how badly written this paragraph is that makes it like a form of diary.But anyway,it's really an embarrassing situation that I encountered.

We went to New York,New York for dinner.This is my second time eating in this restaurant.The first one was at City Link.

I ordered half chicken carbonara,which is super worth the money.

William ordered fish and chip.

Meaningful Bus Story

One day,you were at the bus stop waiting for a bus to take you to another destination.It was 2pm and you are supposed to be there at 4pm.It took the bus 30 minutes to reach from one point to another.

At 2.30pm,The first bus arrived.It was an air-conditioned bus with no passengers.Since you had so much time in your hand,you decided not to take the bus.

30 minutes later,the second bus arrived.It was a non air-conditioned bus with no passengers.You decided to miss this bus since it's non air-conditioned.

Another 30 minutes later,the third bus arrived.It was an air-conditioned bus fully packed with passengers.You looked at the watch: It was 3.30pm.If you miss this bus,you are going to be late.So are you going to board the bus,or are you going to give it a miss again?

So do anyone knows the moral of the story?

The youths are doing a Christmas performance "Beautiful One" by Tim Hughes in another 2 days time.

I heard their performance last Sunday and I would say that the band played very well,except for the group singers.Maybe it just takes time for them to fully project their voice,or maybe the drummer should go down softer.Anyhow,I'll hear from them on the 25th December.

December seems to be such a busy day for each one of us.I got so many photos(such as Richard and Sylvy's wedding and Liyun's birthday)to post and I got to do it right now.

As some of us have known,last Sunday was Richard and Sylvy's wedding day.But for me,I had to attend 2 weddings on that day.It seems like December is the day when most lovebirds get married.

People getting married in December = spending money like mad due to packing ang pao,Christmas shopping and buying gifts.Therefore December is a month when your monthly savings became a negative.

The Emcees happened to be not from our church,which is rather rare because most of the time,it's always the church members who is the Emcees.

I happened to have a full size photo of Richard and Sylvy,but it was badly taken.Blame it on my shaky hands.I really need a anti-shake camera or a DSLR.

The live band is really good loh!I think it sounded better without playing original songs from the CD.The guitar and the bass simply blends in well.Richard's composed song for Sylvy is quite touching,although the tune is rather familiar,like a cut and paste.Overall,it's a well composed song.

The buffet is one of the best I had so far.The fried rice is fragrant and not so dry,compared to the past buffet which serves dry fried rices.The friend prawn is good and I loved the beef sauce.The only complain would be that the beef is too hard for me.

I saw many of our old timers coming for his wedding.People like Jason,Michelle and Chun Kiat are those whom I had not seen them for a very long time.Maybe except for Jason who was here for Diana's wedding.Those were the days...

The second wedding is kinda out of place for me.Firstly it was a Malay wedding in which I didn't know how the sequent goes.Secondly,I don't see any of the familiar faces around,which left me alone while eating.Let's not talk about it.

Finally to Liyun's chalet.Every year without fail we celebrated Liyun's birthday at the chalet.This time,we're at the far end of the chalet and is also well renovated.It looked classy just by looking from the outside.

The Torturing Run

Went for a simple jog yesterday despite the fact that I'm still recovering from my flu.Before going for the run,my stomach was feeling weird,but I ignore the situation,thinking that it was undergoing some digestion process.

My stomach felt much better after a few distant of jogging,so I decided to continue on further.

Unfortunately,when I was jogging half-way back to the starting point,I feel the pain in my stomach.In my mind there are 3 solutions:

1. Find the nearest toilet

2. Walk back to my house

3. Just do it inside my pants

Solution number 1 would be hard as I'm in the middle of a jogging path and the nearest toilet would be......unknown to me.Of course solution number 3 would be something disgusting.Never will I want to do it inside my pants!

So there's only 1 solution I could do:To walk back home which is 1km away.

There's a point of time whereby I can't endure anymore,so I find a place to sit down and say a short prayer to God,a strength that could sustain me back to my place.

Indeed it works.Along the way,I tried talking to God with thanksgiving of how fine the weather are and all sort of thing,until I reached home.Thank God that I did not faint in the middle of a path with shit all over the place.

So I'd learned my lesson: Never eat a light meal of MOS Burger before going for a jog.

Shower The Plants

Nothings beats a demoralizing rain during the precious holiday.It's been raining since morning and the supposedly wonderful outings has been canceled and had to go for the wet weather program instead.

So I spent my whole afternoon(after coming back)idling in front of the computer and took an afternoon nap.No meeting out with others,no shopping.Argggg!!!!!

There goes my holiday.I do hope that the next holiday(Christmas) will be better.

And speaking of rain,I really enjoy staring at the glass window during raining days,with a cup of coffee in my hand.It's the kind of enjoyment I really want ~~watching people running without their umbrellas~~.If possible,I want a partition with a glass window facing a peaceful scenery even during raining season.

Wei Liang did not like receiving so many mails everyday.

Especially those forward mails like chain mails,"funny" photos and some must read true story which in fact,is never true at all.

1. Chain mail - You will not get lucky,cursed and die or drop into a pool of acid if you send this mail to 10 or more person!If you do,I would have strike a toto with only 50 cents.

2. "Funny" photo - all those photoshopped pictures are not funny at all!

3. Must read true story - I don't think people will earn $0.05 simply by mail forwarding.Please refer to snopes before you send those e-mail.

However,Wei Liang love receiving email such as promotions and coupons.He loves lobang such as t-shirts or buffet.Perhaps these people should send out more of this to satisfy his "hunger".

8 posts in total for this closing month of November.That's kind of sad for me.I do hope to make a revival in this blog,say,for next year.

Anyway,this post is not about whining of my blog post,but of something interesting encountered few days ago.

3 days ago,my colleague and I were having dinner at MOS Burger restaurant.We got a table just at the corning which happened to be a very bad location.

We were surrounded by 2 groups of people: The PSP brothers and the photowhore sisters.

The PSP brother spent their time playing with their PSP,without any food on the table.It may be:

1. The finished their food long time ago and they refused to get up and go.

2. They just needed a place to play their PSP only.

But then spending time busy playing with PSP inside the fast food restaurant is simply a no-lifer.I'm not trying to say all those who play hand-held console is a no-lifer,but they should have spare some considerations for the people who needs the seat.

Oh talk about self-control when comes to playing too much electronic games.I need one too.

The photowhore sisters,which happened to sit next table away,spent 45 minutes of their time taking photos with their camera(phone).Same place,same position,almost the same pose.Think they might have taken 100 over photos for the past 45 minutes.

Maybe if you're good enough,you will find their blog post entitled "Day at the MOS Burger",with 50 over same shots with cutsy-dutsy pose.

It's been long since I last posted part 2 of Guitars and Pianos.For part 3,I'll be posting all the songs by Jason Mraz.

"Make It Mine",from his recent album "We sing.We Dance.We steal things".I supposed to post another better version of this song but the person humbly removed the video.So sad.

Anyway,I like how the beat goes.It's catchy from the beginning to the end,with a jumpy chorus to add spice to this song.

"Curbside Prophet",from his album "Waiting For The Rocket To Come".Yes,the guitarist is very entertaining indeed.Be sure to tune down the volume because the singer has a very loud voice.

"Love For A Child",from his album "We sing.We Dance.We steal things".It's kinda sounds like a lullaby song,especially when the singer has a sleepy eyes that adds the effect of this song.I like how he hits the high note easily because this song has lots of high notes.

"Lucky",from his album "We sing.We Dance.We steal things",featuring Colbie Caillat who was well known for her song "Bubbly".This is a very sweet song which needs very good coordination and blending with each other.I fall in love with this song after listening to it for a few times.

Surprise,That Is

Few days ago,Sylvy organized a birthday surprise for Richard at her place.It was quite a sudden information to me,as she announced it 2 days before the actual day.

Meet Ashlea,the lady-like dog.She's much more active compared to the last 2 times I met her.

The chicken,the pizza,the fries and the pie...yummy!

Placing so many candles will reveal Richard's age.

Richard came home later than we planned,thanks to the diversion from Sylvy's request.With the clock ticking fast and the preparation getting rushed,we hope that the plan to surprise Richard will be a success.

The Ipoh Hor Fun I had at the Old Town Kopitiam near to East Coast's Big Splash.I would say I don't really like the hor fun very much.It's so full of MSGs.But then,MSGs is everyone's favorite food.

Mushroom Chicken Cabonara together with my ice lemon tea.I had it at IMM and the price is reasonable(around the price of Pasta Mania).

I like my pasta to be creamy,but not too thick.The cream is just nice for me.Maybe next time I'll try the claypot pasta.

What You Need Is An Automobile

Yes,this ends the 2nd cycle of my reservist.I would say,thank God for blessing me with a smooth in-camp training,other than the long waiting time during training and out processing.

In what way is God blessing me?By showering us with rain so that we wouldn't get cooked and allowing my team to skip the intensive team battle movement evaluation test.

We got recon 1 for our 1st evaluation test,thanks to the removal of carrier boat and underslung test.This is another reason I would thank God for.

Out processing is rather tedious and tiring.This could be because of the long waiting time and also the lack of automobile(four-wheel car).

After I went for the second cycle for my in-camp training,I realized that over 70% of the reservist personnel owns a car.It is very convenient for them to put all their heavy fieldpack into their car boot without any problem(maybe other than finding parking space).

As for some of us without cars,the pain of waiting for a taxi outside the bus stop with 15kg worth of heavy load.For then on I know that owning a car is a must for a reservist personnel.How slow am I to realize this?

I may have problem buying a decent car.First of all,I got to go for a driving license and secondly,saving up cash for it.With me trying hard to save up money for further study,it would take me 4-5 years to own a car.I would have finished my 7th cycle by the time I got it.

Now the one and only solution will be hoping for someone who owns a car staying near my place.

1 more week before we end this high key in-camp training.

It was quite a relaxing in-camp training we had here.I would say that our CSM and OC provide good welfare for us by allowing us to book out everyday.Well,except for Saturday where we had to stay in camp till 3.30pm just to do our medic refresher course.

This in-camp training is in fact a refresher courses for all of us.We had to go through courses such as tactical movement,medic course,artillery(canceled due to renovations)and even engineering recce.So does it make recce a jack of all trades,master of none?

Heard from my senior that in their times,they had to go through POW trainings and jungle survivor course,where they had to kill chickens and iguana for food.I didn't managed to go through all these courses due to issues of past accident.If you ask me whether if I would want to go for all those "sadistic" course,I would say I won't dare to do it.

But then hor,the courses sounds fun to me leh.How ah?It would be good if I were to go through these courses as it's a once in a lifetime experience.

No prize for guessing where I'm heading to.It will be good to just keep in touch with the rest during 2 weeks of training.I hope to see some other familiar faces over there.

Tape Don't Lie

Feeling insecure about my current figure,I took my army uniform to wear.To my horror,the pants that used to fit me nicely becomes so tight that I had to unbutton the top button in order for me to fit in.

I decided to ask my colleague to lend me his medium pants so that I won't have any difficulties when trying to book in for my in-camp training next Monday.

I did a measurement on my waist and it shows a shocking 34 inches!!!!!I didn't know my belly can become so big after joining this company.Seriously,the canteen food is just to oily for consumption.

However at the end of the day,I should put the blame on myself.Who told me to eat so much and sleep so late?I should switch back to my regular diet routine and back to the time of 10.30pm sleeping time.Perhaps this will do the trick.

Maybe my next in-camp training will help me shed some fats,perhaps 2 kg or so?

Yesterday's South Ridge walk was an enjoyable one,with people ranged from young and old joining us for this tiresome trip.

It's a pity not many of the HGC members turn up for this event.Most of them have their own commitment and some overslept.Simply speaking,it's very hard to gather the people for HGC outings.

(It's better not to post anything further than this,because it's not really my edifying thoughts.)

Anyway,we hope to organize even more HGC outings before we end this year 2008.

Alright,the 7th t-shirt was bought out of a 10% discount,that's why I can't resist buying it from online.

The t-shirt was sent to me 2 weeks ago,but due to laziness,I didn't get to post it online.I kinda like the t-shirt design,simple yet funny in the sense that the lost turtle has some special abilities.Maybe if I wore this out,I may caught some attention from the people.

Now that I have a green t-shirt,I'm now short of a yellow one,which I have already aim one of it 2 weeks ago.However,because of the recent economic crisis,I had to hold back.Let's hope the t-shirt I want will have Christmas sales so that I can buy it.

Never call Airasia's customer service hotline.

I waited for 20 over minutes just to wait for that bloody lazy hotline people to just answer my simple question.All I can hear through the phone is the automatic voice system that has been playing over and over again.

Stupid plain lazy people just don't bother to stretch out their hand to answer my phone,or is it because they have only 1 phone to pick up?Sibeh bloody low budget customer service!

Thanks to you,I had to do my booking for at least 3 days just to book a flight from Johor to KL,return air from KL to Langkawi and KL to Singapore.Such a super tedious step.

If I have a choice,I rather take Tiger airway or Jetstar,but they doesn't seems to provide a flight to Langkawi.If they do,I'll BLACKLIST AIRASIA!

Yet An Album Review

I shall dedicate my 400th post by doing a review of Jay Zhou's latest album "魔杰座".

First of all,when I bought my album,the itune actually read my CD with all the wrong titles(for example "女儿红" instead of "给我一首歌的时间").The only correct title would be 稻香 and the rest are wrong.My speculation would be that the record company already foresee the music leaking problem,so they purposely changed all the title of the songs.

Alright,let's get back to the review.

1. 龙战骑士 (魔杰座)

Rock song by Jay Zhou which sounded very upbeat and very RPG-ish.Nothing impressive actually,not much of a breakthrough from his previous rock song album.

2. 给我一首歌的时间 (女儿红)

His usual R&B style of music.Strange enough,it sounded like some compilation of all his previous album,cut and paste and form into this one complete song.

3. 蛇舞 (东方之殿)

Oh no!Middle East music style!Nooooooo!!!!!!!

4. 花海 (红楼梦中)

I love this song.It's actually quite meaningful if you check out his lyrics.At first when I heard the chorus part,he sang until one part he went "zao sia".But when I heard it over and over again,it's actually...the style of this song.

5. 魔术先生 (失恋的青蛙)

Another of his happy cheerful song after his annoying "牛仔很忙".In fact,this song is way better than that cowboy song which sounded very corny.If you listen to his ending part,you will hear a part taken from "牛仔很忙".

6. 说好的幸福呢 (失落非主流)

Alright,WHO came out with the funny fake title?Anyway,this is one super emo song by Jay Zhou,with the piano intro abit like "蒲公英的约定".Perhap this will be a "handphone blasted loudly inside the bus" song.

7. 兰亭序 (从新爱)

Oriental song with is a must have in his compose list.I personally love this song more than his previous oriental song "青花瓷",because the previous song will put you to sleep and the new song brings out more power to the 中国风.However,I still find "菊花台" his overall best.

8. 流浪诗人 (大灌蓝)

Notice the tremendous difference between the real and the fake title?*roll eyes*

The music seems to be rather weird,creepy and dark at the same time.Maybe not my kind of song.

9. 时光机 (达芬奇的画布)

Pop-ish song.Not my type.Next.

10. 乔克叔叔 (小丑)

Ermmm......Bossanova music?Doesn't grew on me either.I'm sorry.

11. 稻香

I loved the guitar introduction and the song is simply meaningful.It gives us some meaning in looking life in another prospective.I wonder why did he place this song as his last song when this song is his first EP?

Take for example,Mr A is a jerk.Even Mr B says he's a jerk.

From this simple sentence,we derived 2 meanings:

1. Mr A is a jerk and Mr B agrees with it.

2. Both Mr A and B is a jerk.

So next time when you start a conversation telling your friends how ______(fill in the blank)this person is and your friend agrees with it,never use the word "even my friend says he's a ______(fill in the blank again)".You may give your friends another impression that your friend is no worse than that particular person.

We Don't Deserve It

Last Sunday we celebrated Raymond's belated birthday with the usual dinner after the usual game of DOTA and an unusual KTV session.It was quite a rushed celebration being the fact that some of us have some event of our own in the morning.

We had a difficult time trying to find a restaurant to eat.Frankly speaking,it's hard to find an English restaurant that offers reasonable price to dine in.

As we became hungrier,we decided to forget about finding a nice English restaurant and went to a Chinese restaurant instead.

We settled at a place called "Chen Fu Ji",a restaurant famous for their crabmeat fried rice,which was recommended by my colleague.

The place was kinda quiet,probably because it was already 9am when we went there.I rather prefer the place to be somewhat noisy.

A beautiful scenery.

The hungry us ate the snack like a bunch of barbarians.

纸包鸡.It looked as if the paper can be eaten.

The meat is very juicy and the mushroom is well marinated.Most of the time I hate eating the black mushroom but this is one special case I ate it.

铁板豆腐.Taste rather normal to me.Not very special.

Sweet and sour pork.

三杯鸡.I loved the way how the prepare the chicken.

Oat Wheat prawn.This is one of the dish we really can't accept its price.6 prawns for $24!Is there any gold filling hidden inside the prawn?No!Then why is it so expensive?

Singapore Sambal fried rice.The rice is well separated and it doesn't taste so dry when I ate it.Somemore the spiciness of it is damn shiok.

Pineapple fried rice.Glenn regretted ordering it.

Japanese fried rice.I loved the ebi roe on top of the rice,but the bad thing about this dish is that,for the cost of $22 it contains only seaweeds,ebi roe and some chewy black stick.

Mango pudding.Something smoothing after a heavy dinner.

The four of us actually played a game of "Fear Factor".Raymond challenged us to eat a lump of onion and garlic inside the 三杯鸡.Glenn and I don't dare to eat it because we know that if we did,we probably get to puke out what we have eaten.

Then we challenged one another to eat a piece of chilli from the sambal fried rice.This should be easy I thought.When I put the whole piece inside my mouth,my tongue sting like mad.I tried drinking cold water to neutralize the taste but failed.It took me some time to get my taste bud recovered.

Glenn,on the other hand is worse.His eyes became bloodshot red after chewing the chilli for 10-15 times and then swallowing it.He had a hard time trying to get his tongue recovered and yes,he had to drink 5-6 cups of tea.

The total cost of the whole thing is $200!It's a super expensive meal I should say,and the birthday boy is sort of kenna carrot chopped by the restaurant.I think this will be the last time we eat here.I should have swap my Japanese fried rice with crabmeat fried rice instead.At least there's crab meat for me to enjoy.

I think next time we should never come to Clarke Quay for meals anymore,except for Central which is nearby.

2 weeks ago,I went for the Super Import Night with my Poly friends.It happened to be the last day when we went there.

We started off with watching the drift outside the exhibition hall.The thing just started when we reached there.

But seriously,the drift is not as entertaining as last year.At least the host from last year knows how to bring up the crowds.

Wisdom tooth extraction was one of the painful thing I've encountered so far.

I've been wanting to remove it during my NS time,but was told by my mother that since it doesn't bother you so much,and it was grown in a very nice position,then don't do it.

It was until the dentist recommended me for the extraction because it may incur tooth decay,I decided to do it.When I went for the x-ray for my teeth,I was shocked that the lower one actually grew in a very awkward position,which is kinda perpendicular to the tooth next to it.

I've heard different kinds of horrible experience from the people and how the extraction have affected them,I wanted to chicken out.But for the sake of not have anymore tooth decay,I had to do it.

The dentist did gave me some warning about the after effects such as permanent numbness in your cheek(that was like 0.5% chance),I hesitate before I made any agreement to sign the paper.Think the dentist is rather annoyed by my persisting questions(the cost fees,the process,etc...).

Now comes the operation part.My heartbeat goes faster than what I have during the waiting process.The anesthetic was painful,but it helps to numb your cheek so that you won't feel the pain during the removal.

Think the dentist went on drilling off the lower part of the wisom tooth,as it's the hardest to be removed.I afraid they might not be able to do it,but after 10-15 minutes of drilling,the lower and the upper part has been removed.

With all the surgery,I got 5 days of MC.It was a hard earned(and a painful one)I have ever had.

Milky Milky Fear

The recent case of contaminated milk in China has caused a crisis around the World.In Singapore,products like rabbit milk candies has been taken off the shelves due to Melamine content.

Because of this,people has lose faith in the dairy product.They may have think twice before buying.They became paranoia when they saw dairy products on the shelves.

But then,this mentality of "all milk is poisonous,I ban myself from drinking" concept doesn't last long.People eventually still needs dairy product.I can't get myself drinking kopi-o everyday or else I grow fear in it.

Don't tell me when rice(in certain country) became contaminated,everyone should ban themselves from eating rice?

Another late post in the making.

My fifth t-shirt online came after my sixth one,probably due to the shipment delay over there.It took me one and a half months just to see this t-shirt arrived at my doorstep.

Anyway,the design is rather simple,artistic in a sense,different from the "detailed" t-shirts that I'd bought previously.

My sixth t-shirt,on the other hand,arrived 1 week after I ordered online.This could be one of the fastest(and cheapest) shipment I've ever have so far.

I loved the fish-eating-the-vehicle design with all the different models of the bicycle join together to form a fish.If you look carefully at the t-shirt,you will see E.T.

As the US currency becomes stronger right now,I had to cease buying t-shirt online.Will wait for the US dollar to drop.

Yesterday's performance from our HGC was good,but not for the singing part.I was getting feedback from alot of people that I lost my form during the harmonizing part!What I could say is,blame it on my bad flu.It was really,really terrible one.

I can't wait for the next performance to come.I just need my sweet comeback.

The skit was much better I would say.Ivan can really act.In fact,all my HGC people can really act.Perhaps this Christmas performance our HGC can take over the whole show?Hohoho.

Today was Zhixiong and Jaslyn's wedding.I was late to hear Zhixiong's touching song for her bride.Arrggggg!!!!!!Did anybody here film down what he performed today?

The food was not bad,except for the garlic scallop(too salty),prawns(not so fresh)and the aloe vera with honey and(a very sweet dessert with very long name).Other than that,the chicken was good,so was the rice.

Anyway,today is mid-autumn night,so I shall share some mooncake celebration photos taken last Friday.

Each of us brought different kinds of mooncakes to share.We didn't managed to finish it,so we decided to give it to someone else.

I had a lunch conversation with my colleagues and one of the colleague came out with an idea:a challenge whereby when everybody laughed at my joke,I had to give them a treat.

What kind of stupid challenge is that?!Either way,I'm still on the losing side.

Another of my colleague found it impossible,as there's one particular person whom will hardly laughed at my joke.

I immediately say out loud to them: "Am chio dio lai sa".I got a fast response from one of them with a laugh.

Then I realized my mistake.I didn't preach the point right.It should be "nai xiong",not "lai xiong".If you were to say it to a girl,I don't think you'll get "lai sa" from from.Instead you'll get "lai xiong" from her beatings.

So I've learnt: 1 word different can mean alot of things.

We Are One Of Them

Last Sunday we finally had our kid's carnival.After 1 year of hiatus,they decided to bring the atmosphere back in church.

When I reached church at around 10.15am,most of the event has already started.The kids were having a game of captain's ball.

The dunking machine that cost 4 bucks for 3 throws!

One of the main highlight of kid's carnival will be the dunking machine,as in who will be the chosen one to be dunked?

Everybody tried in vain to get Junwei down the water but failed eventually.

Next up,we have Pastor Chee Khim.

Pastor Chee Khim seems to draw even more crowds than Junwei.Wah,all of you really love your pastor so much until you all spent $5 for 3 tries ah.

So who dunked the pastor?It was one of the visitors that someone brought.

Ian is super sharpshooter loh!He dunked every single person sitting on the hot seat except for his dad(Pastor Chee Khim).This shows that blood is still thicker than water.

So what is kid's carnival without the food?Of course we do serve lots of yummy food.The popular hotdog bun sold out super fast when I came to the store at around 11am.

This is our store.We are selling bee hoon too.

Mouth-watering chicken wings and bee hoon.

Actually hor,there are 2 stores selling bee hoon,1 store selling fried rice and 3 stores selling chicken wings!So where are all the wide varieties of food?

This store deserves a thumbs up!First of all,this is the most important store ever - the drink store.Secondly,they took a big effort to actually decorate the store banner.It's very attractive.

There was a captain's ball competition going on at the carpark.

Our Queenstown HGC got knockout during the first round.It was a close fight with Punggol HGC.If only they didn't sub Pastor Chee Khim inside their team we could have won.

Well,even with James we couldn't win the game.This shows that captain's ball is not about one strong men in the team,but it's about teamwork.Our HGC lack of the teamwork,and our group consist of 3 girls and 2 guys.Where's Ivan and Alvin when we needed them?I could have let Felicia be the ball catcher while me and James handle the match.

Arrggggg!!!!So many thing just ponder on my mind.Anyway,it was a good game.With more practice,we shall take the challenge again.

At first the game was played with balance of guys and girls,until at the 3 team round robin match it was mainly a guys' game.

So who won the captain's ball?

It was the TUF.Ehhh...Eugene consider TUF ah?

I did not came home empty handed.I was in my impulsive shopping spree and bought something in church and Vivocity.

I like the polar bear because:

1. It got a sleepy eyes.

2. It's white in color and I like white animals.

3. It's fat,cuddly and cute.

I had to put Polar(the white beast)and Java(the handmade reptile)in a safe zone so that my nephew won't take them home.

The carnival is not as happening as last time.Mainly because of:

1. Some unoccupied space for inspirational store.I personally think scope the goldfish was good,but the goldfish eventally died after the whole event.Maybe should provide some oxygen tank for the fishes?

2.There are some not so fun store which was left abandoned.Should not have put in the mindsweeper which becomes a place for gathering and chit chat.

3.Unoriginal food store.As I said earlier,so many store selling the same stuff!We should add in ice-creams and brownies and maybe exotic food store.

Anyway,good job to the organizer and well done!I believed everybody enjoyed themselves getting good deals and dunking your best friend/pastor in.I hope to see more happening stuff in the kid's carnival next time.

Why Do Robots Fall In Love?

Wall-e with an innocent looking eyes.

Watched the show Wall-e with my HGC people.What could I say?I simply fall in love with the show!I did yawned frequently during the show,because I watched it during midnight and I'm kinda sleepy.

The show,according to my colleague,is the same as an old film "Short Circuit",with robot having the same design and build.Anyway,I didn't watched "Short Circuit" before,therefore I can't judge.

The show reminded me of "I Am Legend",as Wall-e seems to be the only robot on Earth,together with his cockroach companion.It's quite sad that he has to proceed on to his regular duty(to crush rubbish)despite the Earth is in a pretty gone-case situation.I don't like this setting.

Romance came when Eve came to Earth in search for "something" and Wall-e is attracted by her beauty.Probably because he had been inspired by the romantic musical movie he watched everyday.

Anyway,the whole thing is so sweet loh!Wall-e keep pronouncing her name wrongly("Eva" instead of "Eve").Then he's willing to sacrifice himself to protect her(shelter her using umbrella) and trying to hold her hand.I'm starting to like romantic movies.

The whole movie focus more of robotic love,as what Disney is good at it.

Well,there's something to be learn during the whole show.

1. Save the Earth

For people who watched the movie,you will see the Earth as a scum place.Therefore,save the Earth,learn to recycle.

2. Gadget dependent makes you fat

I was sad and disgusted when I saw people flying/hovering/floating around with their robotic transport starring at their hologram screen everyday without knowing what's around them.All they do s to eat,drink,sleep and be merry.Moreover,they don't seems to be doing any workout at all.Seriously,do you really want to live like this?

I give the movie 8 stars out of 10.

An Old School Of Love

Yesterday I had a conversation with one of my colleague.He was asking me some recommendation of nice expensive chocolate other than Royce.

He was asking me on behalf of his friend,and of course for his girlfriend.He added on by saying that if he were to go for a date or gift for his girlfriend,he would have taken her to watch a movie.

Me : Hah......so cliche!

Colleague: If you told me watching a movie is cliche,why don't you give me better idea?

Me: (hesitate)Hmmm......maybe give her a surprise or something?

Colleague: Like that also cliche what!

Me: *Roll eyes* But then it's better than watching movie am I right to say that?

Colleague: Aiyoh,I tell you lah,is there any such not-so-old-fashion way of giving something to your girlfriend?You see our Ah Gong Ah Ma used to watch chinese opera last time.

That's not the point.The point is,will the girl be happy with just a movie?

Maybe I'll compose a song for my girl,perhaps every special occasions.But then,I'll be exhausted trying to write 3-4 songs per year(Valentines day,anniversary,her birthday and Christmas).For special occasion,we can have dinner at a restaurant where there is live performance.Then I can request to take over the stage and perform for her.

However,this is something I hope to do.

Or maybe old school still rules.Not all girls have a complicated mind.A simple minded girl would prefer something simple like catching a movie and a dinner in some nearby kopitiam.If she's sick of eating outside food,we can do our own cooking instead.

Seems like I think too much over the conversation yesterday.I should have just forget about everything.

Back To Malacca Part 3

Wake up super early the next day because we actually booked an early bus back to Johor.We almost can't get 4 tickets back due to the overwhelming people who has the same thought as us.

Before we go,we had our breakfast buffet.We had some difficulty trying to find the right place as there's not much of a direction given to us.

My breakfast.The taste is quite okay,but not as good as the one we had in Johor.They did not have fried potato wedges,it was replaced by a steamed one.

I ate quite a little for my breakfast,thanks to the accumulated food from yesterday inside my stomach.

After our meal,we packed up our stuff,settled some accounts(I hate that!So am I fit to be an accountant?),and off we go.

William actually did some minor stun by forgetting to take his photo book inside the room.How forgetful!But anyway,we had more than enough time to board the bus.Another long journey(with my DS lite)back to Johor.

We got to celebrate William's birthday and pass him his present!So we tried to "make up story" by saying we are hungry and we need to find some place to chill.At first we thought of Starbuck,but we decided on Secret Recipe.

Apparently the blur-like-sotong William didn't notice anything different.When we foot the bill and go,we had to hint him until he gets it.Grrrrrr......

Now that we have done with the meal,it's time for seafood!

Errrmmm.....it's still the same old stuff we ordered over and over again.Hot plate tofu,sambal kangkong,sambal stingray,etc...can we order something different next time?

We took a train back home instead of the bus.This is my second time taking Malaysia train;the first time was in Primary 2.

They had a LCD TV installed in every sector of the train!Next time we should consider taking train for our next trip.

Jonker Street: A place filled with flea market,laughter and crowds in the night time,a quiet and peaceful walk in the day.

Man am I so wrong when I thought Malacca is a peaceful and non-happening place when we first visited here.In fact,Jonker Streets happens to be an addictive flea market during the weekend.We came at the right time.

We decided to come back to the restaurant that offers nice chicken rice ball.

Unfortunately,the yam riceball had sold out,and the food tasted not to our expectation.Therefore,it's recommended that you had chicken rice meal during the daytime as it taste fresher.

Feeling tired and thirsty,we decided to stop by a store for ice kachang and 八宝汤.

The dessert is very refreshing.Eating icy cold ice kachang on a hot weather(and crowd)is one of the best thing we love to(or should I say,it's a must?)do.

After one whole day of journey,we returned to the hotel to rest.It was a very tiring day for us.

A great display of stuff that I bought: T-shirts,belt,socks,Wallet,Bicycle black deck and food.

The egg yoke cake is super nice.I shall buy more of this next time.

I didn't expect I got ambushed so jialat by them inside the hotel.At first,William's facial expression looks kinda sneaky,but I didn't really suspect that he will attack me.In the end...

How could I possibly lose my guard when William "excuse" himself to go to the bathroom.Stupid me.

Now that I'm defenseless,I got my pant strip halfway by them.I keep resisting and I still lose the battle.

Nasty Plot For Birthday

2 weeks ago,we celebrated Elvin's birthday.We had dinner at Kushinbo restaurant again at Suntec City.This is the second time we went there for a buffet dinner.

Nothing much has changed.Still the same old food,same pricing,but there's another one opening in Jurong Point.So do check it out.

More food!

I still like kaminabe.

Alaskan crab is sweet.

Every time we celebrate,we failed to sabotage the birthday boy.It always end up him knowing the plan and the present inside.

This time round we really need to put his cockiness to an end.So I think of a impromptus prank to sabotage Elvin.

We decided to put his present into his bag(since he's the only one bring it)and throw the present bag away.This makes him think that:

1. We didn't brought his present.

2. We threw the decoy away.

3. The present IS in the bag.

Don't think he would even bother to think it's point number 3.Well anyway,the plan turns out to be fine.He's shocked when he realised that the bag we're holding does not contain his present.That brings him to point number 2.

So throughout the whole movie(Money Not Enough 2.Nice show by the way),he was kinda distracted(?) by the things that we did.Hahaha,the plan did works.

We even confidently let his check Glenn's car boot and no trace of his present was found.This makes him panic and after letting him guess the present whereabout and what it is,we finally point to him the present...in his bag.

Anyway,I thanked Glenn and Raymond for the act so real that Elvin was convinced by out actions.As I got the poker face,I would have let the cat out of the bag.But it's my 2 Polytechnic buddies that makes the sabotage works.

Back To Malacca Part 1

With all the procrastinations and computer down reason,I'm back to post my trip to Malacca.If I'm not wrong,it is almost 1 month since we went there.Therefore this post is a...

SUPER DUPER LATE POST!!!!!!!!

Aiyoh,who to blame?That is the author himself loh.

Alright back to my Malacca post.This time round I thank God that the journey is a success,except that my stomach seems to be very weak on that day and we don't get to take the KKKL bus,which by recommendation from my 2 fellow Malaysian friends,is one of the best.

Nothing has changed since we last went there.Same environment,same air,same incomplete construction,but added a new shopping mall and a foodcourt which we don't really go.

Dunkin' Donut at Larkin Bus Terminal.It's a must have when you're there,as the jorney we're going to take is very long.So for those going places like KL,you got to get that ready.

The journey took us around 2.5 hours,and good thing I have my DS with me,so I won't feel so bored on the bus.

Arrived at the destination and waited at the bar lounge.

Half an hour later,the room is ready for us to use.Think the cleaners are abit pissed when we keep on walking outside our room,up and down the lift.

Definitely worth the dollar spent.We have living room with balcony...

and a kitchen as well!

This should be some rich man's stay next to a Mosque.

The cost?RM$250 for 4 person,all thanks to the discount from Ming Keat's SIA pass.

For lunch,going for Peranakan food is a must in Malacca.But you must do it before 2.30pm,as the restaurant will closed from 2.30pm to 6pm.We had a tough time finding the restaurant that close later than 2.30pm,and we managed to find it.

Curry prawn with pineapple.Don't know the exact dish name.

Chicken with some wierd looking stuff.It tastes good.

Mixed vegetable that I won't take.

Hot Plate Tofu.They used different kind of bean curd.

Asam Fish.This is a must order kind of dish.

Dessert for Ming Keat.It's mixed with coconut milk and brown sugar syrup.

Overall the food is not bad.It's kind of salty,but not to the extend of drinking lots of water.

The food session doesn't end that fast.In fact,we went to Makota Parade for another round of food in Secret Recipe!

A wide spread of food ranged from green tea ice-blended to Oreo cheesecake.

After all this sinful stuff into my body,my stomach can't take it anymore.Well,there's still more to come when we finished our shopping and proceed to Jonker Street.
